Welcome to the Epsilon Omicron Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta on the campus Randolph-Macon College!
Being a Theta at R-MC goes beyond words - it is about the memories we create starting on Bid Night during our first moments together, running down the Brock Common's stairs as a group girls with beaming smiles welcomed us with open arms to our new home. It is about the days spent tailgating on game days, being able to call someone when you need help and knowing that person will drop whatever they are doing to come help you and for me, getting the big sister I never had on Big Little night. Theta means someone will always be there for you no matter what. It means you have a home-away-from-home. It means you’ll always see a familiar face on campus. It means you have a place to have a movie night and laugh till your stomach hurts. It is already my senior year and it is amazing how fast time flies when you are having the greatest time of your life.
With a strong emphasis on academics and leadership, Thetas are involved in every aspect of campus life. From holding executive board positions in Student Government, participating in athletics, writing for the campus newspaper, welcoming freshman to campus by being "Macon Movers" and Orientation Leaders, and innovating new and exciting clubs, our members are immersed in a wide variety of activities. Our chapter boasts majors from almost every academic department at the college. Thetas can always be found studying together in the library, or in our facility's library.
Looking at our website, our social media and Tumblr, you’ll see that Theta life at R-MC is full of excitement and adventure. From our formals to completing in the backlight run, there is something going on year round off and on campus. Spring brings our much anticipated philanthropy event, Rock for CASA. This day consists of outdoor "music" festival that supports our national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Spring also means sunny afternoons on our deck and celebrations for our graduating seniors.
For over 125 years, Kappa Alpha Theta has had the reputation for strong, leading and creative women. It’s no wonder we feel a common bond, and that the four shorts years together create friendships for a lifetime - a bond that only elevates ones college experience at R-MC, and continues to take our life’s journey onto more wonderful experiences, and memories. At the end of the day, I could not be happier to be surrounded by my best friends – my Theta sisters. Because of them, I’ve been able to strengthen my leadership skills, build new friendships that I know will impact my life for the better. I’m so honored to be included among such a diverse and accomplished group of women and even more humbled to serve as this year’s President. Enjoy taking a look at our website and getting a sneak peak of what life is like as an R-MC Theta.
Theta Love and All Mine,
